Most people, when they are thinking "remodel", can only imagine what chaos they have in front of them, embarking on a "big project".  You did a terrific job moving us forward at each step, from listening to our ideas, incorporating our vision, adding the details to make ours a beautiful remodel, while staying true to the original construction of our home.  It was easier to relax during the remodel knowing you had everything under control.  Thanks!

On a personal note: You became like family; all of us on the same Team, creating something wonderful. We really knew you felt it, too.  Your effort, to go above and beyond, still touches us.

Jim Karlovec and his employees are simply fantastic. Every detail was covered and completed as Dave, Zack and Jeff made sure that nothing was overlooked. We liked what they did so much that they now have completely torn apart our kitchen. If you look in the dictionary under professional Jim Karlovec’s picture should be there.

I give Jim Karlovec my highest possible recommendation. He worked on our home extensively in 2008 (old Shaker Heights home), mainly focused around re-design of a master bath, although much other work was involved. He is very creative with space and very precise with design. Plans were made that were executive as described. The work was clean, polite, on schedule, and under his direct control (he was never more than a phone call away for almost a year). The price estimates were followed and the work finished on time. He schedules regular meetings to stay “on budget” and only strays with your consent in advance. Perhaps more importantly, he provides a guarantee that has substance (we have used it).

Dear Jim,

About 50 people were in my kitchen this weekend and half that many insisted on seeing my bathroom, too. You got tons of compliments. What made me most happy was the frequent comment that the kitchen looked like it belonged to the house. This had always been my overriding goal and I greatly appreciate your helping me achieve it.

It was truly a pleasure working with you, Bob, and Rob and all of your sub-contractors, especially Gary and Zack and Matthew. You are so fortunate to be surrounded by such capable people. 2007 will always be etched in my mind as the year the house was torn up. It wasn’t an easy experience . But it was made way more pleasant having nice people around. I’m very grateful. I hope you’ll pass along my gratitude and thanks and all those nice compliments I got from family and friends.

We did get your first email, we are just slow getting back to you - sorry! 

It has been CRAZY!  Eddy's family just left, so things should be getting back to normal.....

The kitchen is GREAT!  Five of us ate at the table in the kitchen most every night.  It has totally changed how we live in our house.  We all spend most of our time in there! We were cozy, but comfortable!  I cooked Christmas dinner and the kitchen functioned very well.  We both love the pull-out trash.  Funny, it is the simple things that make a huge difference!  I can give you feed back on many things, if you are interested.  Not really anything on your end, more on the products (like the big sink - love it).

Hi Jim and Rob,

I would like to express my appreciation for your supplying a terrific guy to repair the water damage and construct a quality long term solution at my home.  The result is one that I am confident will solve the problem.  I checked for air infiltration last night and there is not any.

Note that I have worked with tradesman on industrial/commercial projects my entire career and recognize an excellent worker.

Bob is an outstanding carpenter.  He is very knowledgeable, has a high concern for quality and is very hard working and efficient.  He also has very good communications skills and is customer oriented.  You have a great employee that represents your organization very well.

Bob came out to the house, looked over the issues, understood the goal (to come up with a plan to prevent this from happening again), offered very good solutions and dug in and implemented the plan.  His workmanship is excellent!

One very nice touch at the end of the job.  He noticed that the ledge in an existing bathroom had never been fastened.  He had some caulk left in the tube and came in and asked my wife if he could use the caulk to make it stay in place.  Great suggestion and thinking beyond what he was there to do.

Great Work!  Please forward my thanks again to him!I will certainly keep your firm in mind for future work around my house and will recommend you to others that are looking for work on their home.

WOW!  What a treat to come home tonight!  The place is starting to look like I envisioned it.  I love the guest bath. I LOVE the green living room!!!!!!The arrangement of the furniture and the detailing of the towel bars, etc, and especially the cleaning was indescribably delightful!  I can almost imagine carpeting on the floor! The granite is positively fabulous! Love the faucet too!  Now, as you can imagine, I am anxious for the grande finale..... WOW!

Jim Karlovec is very friendly and made reliable cost and work projections. First bath went very quickly at our request. Second ran over time, but was made “functional” quickly, also. We asked them to do the choosing of fixtures etc… with little input except overall style, function and cost goals and this was done very well. Complete updating of wiring and plumbing, in home almost 100 years old, seemed to be done in very thorough and safe manger, including management of some asbestos issues. Clean-up good. Very accessible for concerns of questions. Felt comfortable having them in home, even if we weren’t there. Good attention to detail. i.e. a tile was chipped and it was repaired by staff without our having to bring it to their attention. I really liked the carpentry – which matched pre-existing molding, medicine cabinets, etc. of the house. Price was fair considering we did absolutely none of the leg work. I really liked that they used local businesses fro plumbing and cabinets, etc.
