An all new kitchen in a 1924 Shaker home

The client's inspiration came from another Karlovec & Co. B&W, Shaker kitchen

A pull out garbage can was squeezed into limited space under the sink

The 2-person peninsula replaced a solid wall

This relatively small kitchen now allows up to 3 people to easily work together preparing meals.

Supplemental toe-kick heat sits under the drawers

The side wall landing zone easily accomodates food going into & out of the microwave & refrigerator

Staggering cabinet depths allowed for a large fridge & more storage without causing traffic problems

A custom-built enclosure surrounds the recycled radiator

Dead space was captured for a "stool slot" behind the Super Susan & under the peninsula

A back door "drop zone" keeps keys, notes & phones at hand

The old powder room used to sit here!

A mud room includes space for coats, boots, backpacks, recycling (under bench) & the usual mess
